Product Description

An embedded spiral of stainless steel wire lets the tube bend through any head position — rotation, extension, flexion, lateral tilt — while the lumen stays fully open. Ordinary tubes flatten under the same conditions, and a flattened tube mid-thyroidectomy is an emergency nobody wants. Reinforcement converts that scenario into a non-event, which is why anesthesiologists specify armored tubes for every shared-field list.

How Subglottic Suction Works

A dedicated suction lumen exits on the dorsal side of the tube just above the cuff. An ICU nurse can aspirate the pooled secretions with a standard syringe at scheduled intervals, or the port can be connected for continuous low-pressure drainage during long ventilator runs. Because the lumen sits above the cuff, drainage happens before fluid ever reaches the cuff fold, which is precisely where conventional tubes leak it into the lower airway.
